Epi-Otic is a non-irritating, drying ear cleaner with disinfectant properties based on lactic acid and salicylic acid in encapsulated (spherulites) and in free form and contains chitosanide and sodium docusate. It is excellent for softening and removing excessive earwax and inflammatory material in the external ear canal of dogs and cats.

Lactic acid has disinfecting properties (pH reduction). Salicylic acid is keratolytically active (horny layer softened) and therefore anti-inflammatory and itchy. It has a drying effect. Spherulites are microspheres, which are arranged in layers, which cause a delayed release of active substances and therefore a longer-lasting effect. Chitosanide is a biodegradable biopolymer that attaches itself to the skin and hair with spherulites and has a moisture-regulating effect. Sodium docusate is surface tension reducing, whereby a strong improvement of the penetrating capacity of the liquid is obtained.
