Beaphar Anti-Myiasis (Ivermectin 0,05%, skin spray, solution for rabbits and guinea pigs for prevention of Myiasis (maggot disease). Myiasis in rabbits and guinea pigs is mainly caused by feces or urine sticking to the back. This attracts flies to lay eggs. The maggots from the eggs eat their way through the skin and can cause blood poisoning or infection, which can kill the animal within 24 hours.
Please note, this product kills the eggs and maggots of the fly that causes Myiasis; not the adult fly. Use of Anti-Myiasis is recommended during the period when the blue-green humbug fly is active. Depending on weather conditions, this is usually April through November. If you observe maggots on the animal you should immediately contact your veterinarian.
Instructions
Remove any feces and ensure good hygiene in the loft. Spray the appropriate amount of liquid on the back of the animal, from the middle of the back to the tip of the tail. The area under the tail and between the animal's hind legs deserve extra attention. Treat early in the summer, before there are flies. Bathing may reduce the effect of the drug and require more frequent administration. During high-risk periods, administer every month (do not repeat treatment within 4 weeks).
